#PANAMACONTRASTS PROJECT 2016

A project developed for the Italian Magazine ARBITER‘s new insert: LØCKED MAGAZINE, dedicated to smartphone photography and image culture.
Directed by renowned Italian portrait photographer Fredi Marcarini, LØCKED offered me a space on their second issue of November 2016, to write and document about Panama. The photography project is called #PanamaContrasts and is part of a series of smartphone photography projects published on LØCKED magazine. Some of these images are also published on the Instagram’s account @lockedmagazine. Below the overview on the article, and a selection of photographs taken and edited with an iPhone6.

Ale & Guille: Beach Wedding in Coronado, Panama

Last year, this wonderful couple of friends got married on a beautiful summer afternoon, in the famous Panamanian beach town of Coronado, and held a beach party afterwards. The celebration started at sunset, filled with colourful wishes lanterns, beach themed details as decorations, and followed by indefatigable dancing led by the energetic, loving newlyweds. Below some highlights of this memorable summer evening 🙂

Jeanette & Hendrik’s Wedding in Lübeck, Germany

My dear friend Jeanette, also my student exchange sister, got married this fall in Germany to a wonderful man, Hendrik, her long time boyfriend, and I was very lucky to be able to attend as well as to cover their beautiful wedding on a historical boat in Lübeck!

The whole theme was nautical: not only every detail and decoration, but also because the ceremony was held on a historical boat, the Passat in Travemünde, and the reception was held in a former port storage building in Lübeck. The transportation to and from the Passat Boat was also on a boat, where everyone enjoyed beautiful views of the Trave River while dancing or having coffee and cake!

Shakespeare goes to Boquete, Chiriqui

The Theatre Guild of Ancon‘s play “The complete works of William Shakespeare [Abridged]”, directed by Nick Miles in past March 2016, was brought to Boquete, Chiriquí, a beautiful mountain retreat in Western Panama’s highlands, as a one night only play, to delight the local expat and international community, as well as tourists.

The play was held during sunset in a beautiful amphitheatre, located at Valle Escondido, Boquete, surrounded by lots of nature, tranquility and fresh mountain air. This unusual and super fun production was enjoyed not only by the local community, but also by the whole crew, who came up from Panama City for a weekend only during the Easter Holidays to make this unique experience happen.

These are some of the photos I took of that special day 🙂

Ana & Fran’s Engagement Session in Casco Viejo

When the love is real and the couple is super fun, a beautiful engagement session can’t go wrong (no, not trying to rhyme it LOL)! Ana and Fran are about to experience their most expected day in August: a destination wedding in Panama, with guests coming from all around the globe to witness their declaration of love.

They are from Colombia and Spain and met in Panama, so to document the amazing love and energy they share, they chose Casco Viejo’s unique atmosphere for their engagement session.

On that summer morning we were lucky enough to get just a few drops of light rain, before it got beautifully sunny and windy for most of the session. Also, their puppy Pipo was the best doggie-model I’ve ever seen!

Below my selection of the final photos, enjoy!
