APARTMENT EXTENSION OVER AN EXISTINGTERRACE
Architecture design of an apartment extension, to be used as an independent single room apartment with kitchen, living room and bathroom.
The main new volume connects to the existing building through a smaller volume, which is defined as a transitional space between the existing apartment and the new extension.
The ground floor’s main area (living room + kitchen) connects to the lower level’s social area (residential building’s pool area) through the existing staircase, which will be maintained and used as a library. The main entrance will remain through the existing apartment.
Next, a smaller area holds a private den and a bathroom with a smaller new staircase connecting to the upper bedroom: an open mezzanine space, located above the bathroom.
The main façade has a series of large openings, facing the ocean’s panoramic view. Secondary smaller openings are located laterally and in the back of the building, with a nautical themed shape.
